Project memory

Memory is a short list of facts about your repo (how to run it, where things live, what to avoid) that you push into agents when you want them to know it.

Open memory#

  • Press M, use the Memory chip on the command bar, or ToolsMemory.
  • Two scopes: this repo, named after its folder, and All repos.
  • Facts have a kind: Architecture, Structure, Commands, Conventions, Gotchas or Context.
  • Memory is kept on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/Hypervibe/Memory, by repo path.

Fill it with a scan#

  • Scan asks one of your CLIs, in a session the app runs out of sight in your repo, to write a briefing of the repository without changing anything. Depending on the effort (Quick, Balanced or Thorough), it proposes about 6 to 14 facts.
  • Nothing is saved until you choose Add to memory.
  • Refresh checks a single fact against the repository again.
  • You pick the CLI among the five built-ins. Your default agent is selected (or, if it is not one of the five, the first one installed) until you choose another, and that choice is remembered for Scan and Refresh. Each scan or refresh is a turn on that CLI's plan.

Push it into agents#

  1. Place the card

Place card on board puts a memory card on the board.

  2. Wire it

Wire connects it, with violet wires, to the consoles or groups that should know.

  3. Push

Push types the memory into each wired running agent and submits it, introduced as background context rather than a task, and asks the agent to reply OK. The facts sent are capped at 3,400 characters; entries that do not fit are left out, and the message says how many.

The card reports what happened: sent to how many, how many were busy, or nothing sent.

New consoles are not briefed on their own

Push again when you add agents. Memory reaches an agent only when you push it.

Project memory wired into consoles.
