Data and privacy
Your code, microphone audio and agent sessions stay on your Mac. A short list of things leaves it, each for a reason. This page is a practical summary; the privacy policy is the full text.

What stays on your Mac#
- Your repositories and code. Agents read them locally; Symvibe never uploads files.
- Microphone audio, transcribed on the Mac.
- Boards, threads, memory, documents, loops, settings and the cache of spoken replies.
- Account profiles and the sign-in files they hold.
- Usage figures and token history, read from the CLIs and their logs.
- There is no analytics or telemetry inside the app.
What leaves it#
| What | Where | When |
|---|---|---|
| Your sign-in | Firebase Authentication, a Google service | When you sign in, then every few minutes to keep you signed in |
| Your sign-in token and the app's version | Symvibe's servers | Every few minutes while subscribed, to read your credits, and before planner or voice requests |
| Your sign-in token and a random identifier for this Mac | symvibe.com | The subscription check, every few minutes |
| The app's version | symvibe.com | The update check, about once an hour |
| An order's text, the recent thread and a snapshot of the board | Symvibe's planner service, then Groq running gpt-oss-120b | Only for orders that need the planner |
| The text of a spoken line, at most 500 characters | Symvibe's servers, then Inworld | When the app speaks, unless the line is cached |
| Payment details | Paddle | When you subscribe |
| The speech model download | Hugging Face | Once |
Everything your agent CLIs send to their own providers is theirs, under their terms, exactly as when you run them in Terminal.
What the board snapshot contains#
The names, types and roles of your consoles, the order each one is working on and its activity (which can name a tool it is running or quote up to 80 characters of a question it asks), groups and their members, the names of your own agents and orchestrator cards, recent orders and who answered, the repo and workspace names, counts, selection and zoom, the names of loops, up to 60 paths of Markdown files in the repo, and the last few thread messages, trimmed.
File contents and microphone audio are never attached. But an order, the recent messages and agents' excerpts can contain code or anything you or an agent wrote.
Where Symvibe writes#
| Folder | What is there |
|---|---|
~/Library/Application Support/Hypervibe | Boards and their archive, threads, memory, documents, profiles, pasted screenshots, the voice cache, a few small settings files, and a local log of app freezes in Diagnostics. The folder keeps the app's former name. |
~/.hypervibe | The hook script, only if live agent status is on |
~/.claude/settings.json, ~/.codex/hooks.json | Symvibe's hook entries, only if live agent status is on |
| Your repo | Only what you ask for: files you create, save or trash in the studios, copies of files dropped from outside, Save .md output in outputs/, skills you create in the Project scope, and Git actions you run, such as commits or the .gitignore lines that keep a large file off GitHub |
~/.claude/skills, ~/.claude/commands | Skills and commands you create or edit in the Personal scope, the default |
~/symvibe, ~/hypervibe on a Mac that already had it, or the folder you chose | Repos you clone or create during first launch, and projects you move out of iCloud Drive |
~/Library/Application Support/FluidAudio | The on-device speech model |
| Next to your Claude Code and Codex settings | One-time backups, settings.json.hypervibe-backup and hooks.json.hypervibe-backup, if live agent status was ever on |
Deleting your data#
To remove Symvibe's local data, switch off live agent status, then delete ~/Library/Application Support/Hypervibe, ~/.hypervibe and ~/Library/Application Support/FluidAudio. Your repos, projects and skills are yours to keep. A preferences file, Keychain entries, caches and the website data of web tiles (in ~/Library/WebKit and ~/Library/HTTPStorages) also remain; Remove Symvibe has the order. For data on our side (your account, billing records), write to hello@symvibe.com. The privacy policy covers retention and your rights.
